Frequently asked questions

Do I need to download an app?

No app required. Sparky Books works through your normal WhatsApp. If you can send a text message, you can use Sparky Books.

Is the GST data accurate enough to use for my BAS?

Our AI extraction is highly accurate for clear photos. We always recommend reviewing your data before lodging. The 'Done-For-You BAS' add-on includes a registered BAS agent review.

What if my receipt photo isn't perfect?

We handle blurry, angled, and crumpled receipts reasonably well. If extraction fails, we'll tell you and let you retry or edit manually.

Can I also upload receipts from my computer?

Yes. The dashboard has an upload page where you can drag-and-drop or browse receipt images. WhatsApp is just the fastest way.

What about Xero or MYOB?

CSV export is included on all plans so you can import your data anywhere. Native Xero integration is on the roadmap.

I'm not an electrician — can I use this?

The categories are optimised for electrical contractors, but any Australian tradesperson or sole trader can use it. The trade-specific categories can be ignored or mapped to your needs.
